| Product Name | Glutamate Assay Reagent |
| Catalog No. | CMTR-HMM-0010 |
| Description | Glutamic acid is one of two acidic protein amino acids and a key molecule in cellular metabolism. In humans, glutamate plays a significant role in amino acid degradation and the processing of excess or waste nitrogen. Glutamate is the most abundant fast-acting excitatory neurotransmitter in the mammalian nervous system. It appears to be associated with diseases such as amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS), thiamine deficiency, autism, certain forms of intellectual disability, and Alzheimer's disease. |
| Application | This product is used to detect glutamate in various samples. |
| Principle | The enzyme mixture recognizes glutamate as a specific substrate, leading to proportional color development. Therefore, the amount of glutamate can be easily quantified using colorimetric spectrophotometry at OD = 450 nm. |
| Assay Type | Quantitative |
| Detection Method | Colorimetric |
| Applicable Instruments | Microplate reader |
| Detection Time | 40 min |
| Sample Type | Urine, Serum, Plasma, Other biological fluids, Cell lysate |
| Procedure | 1. Add the sample and standard to the wells. 2. Add the reaction mixture and incubate at 37°C for 30 minutes. 3. Analyze using a microplate reader. |
| Storage | -20°C |
