| Product Name | Fumarate Assay Reagent |
| Catalog No. | CMTR-HMM-0047 |
| Description | Fumaric acid (HO₂CCH=CHCO₂H-) is an intermediate in the Krebs cycle, which cells use to metabolize food into ATP. In mammalian livers, fumaric acid is also a product of the urea cycle. After being released into the cytoplasmic solute, it is converted into malic acid, which is then converted into oxaloacetic acid, while NADH is generated in the cytoplasmic solute. |
| Application | This product is used to measure fumarate concentrations in biological samples. |
| Principle | Fumarase mixtures recognize fumaric acid as a specific substrate, resulting in proportional color development. Therefore, the content of fumaric acid can be easily quantified using the colorimetric method (λ = 450 nm). |
