Product Name Dried Blood Spot Preservation Buffer, Extraction Ready
Catalog No. ATR-SPS-0002
Description A formulated extraction and preservation buffer for the elution of proteins, metabolites, and nucleic acids from dried blood spot cards used in newborn screening and pharmacokinetic studies.
Intended Use Elution and stabilization of analytes from dried blood spot (DBS) filter paper cards for subsequent analysis by LC-MS, immunoassay, and PCR-based methods.
Principle / Technology Detergent and protein components in the buffer solubilize dried blood components and stabilize eluted analytes; EDTA chelates metals that catalyze analyte degradation.
Detection Method Analyte recovery from DBS punches, stability over 7 days at 4°C versus baseline
Sample Type Dried blood spots on Whatman 903 or equivalent filter paper cards
Performance Range / Specifications >85% recovery for amino acids, acylcarnitines, and steroids; stability up to 7 days at 4°C
Sensitivity / LOD N/A
Specificity N/A
Reaction Conditions / Protocol Punch 3.2 mm DBS disk into 100 µL buffer; shake at 600 rpm for 30 min at room temperature; centrifuge; use supernatant for analysis.
