| Product Name | Chymotrypsin Activity Assay Reagent (UV Spectrophotometer) |
| Catalog No. | ETR-HMM-0011 |
| Description | Chymotrypsin, also known as pancreatic chymotrypsin, is an important proteolytic enzyme in the serine protease family, typically existing in the form of chymotrypsinogen. Its function is similar to that of trypsin. by cleaving the carboxy-terminal peptide chains of tyrosine and phenylalanine in protein peptide chains, it specifically hydrolyzes carboxy-terminal aromatic amino acids or side-chain bulky hydrophobic residues such as methionine, acting as an endopeptidase. It has strong proteolytic activity, low toxicity, and minimal adverse effects, making it widely applied in clinical and industrial fields. |
| Application | Chymotrypsin can catalyze the hydrolysis of N-benzoyl-L-tyrosine ethyl ester (BTEE), with the product exhibiting a characteristic absorption peak at 256 nm. The activity of chymotrypsin can be characterized by changes in absorbance. |
