| Product Name | Glutathione Peroxidase (GSH-PX) Assay Reagent (Colorimetric Method) |
| Catalog No. | ETR-HMM-0028 |
| Description | Glutathione peroxidase (GSH-PX) is a widely distributed enzyme in the body that catalyzes the decomposition of hydrogen peroxide. It specifically catalyzes the reduction of hydrogen peroxide by reduced glutathione (GSH), thereby protecting the structural and functional integrity of cell membranes. The active center of GSH-PX is selenocysteine, and selenium is an essential component of GSH-PX, with each gram of enzyme containing 4 grams of selenium atoms. Measuring GSH-PX activity can serve as a biochemical indicator of selenium levels in the body. |
| Application | This product uses the colorimetric method to measure GSH-PX activity. |
