| Product Name | ATP Luminescent Cell Viability Assay Kit 2.0 |
| Catalog No. | RESK-0158 |
| Description | ATP is the most important energy molecule in cells. It reflects the level of cellular metabolism and shows a good linear correlation with the number of viable cells, so the number of living cells can be determined by measuring ATP content. The ATP Luminescent Cell Viability Assay Kit 2.0 is based on ATP bioluminescence technology: luciferase uses luciferin, adenosine triphosphate (ATP) and O2 as substrates and converts chemical energy into light in the presence of Mg2+. ATP is both an essential substrate for luciferase-catalyzed luminescence and the energy source of all biological activities. In the luciferase-catalyzed luminescence reaction, ATP concentration is linearly proportional to luminescence intensity within a certain concentration range. |
| Intended Use | Quantitative determination of viable cell numbers and assessment of cell viability by measuring intracellular ATP content. |
| Principle / Technology | ATP-dependent luciferase-catalyzed bioluminescence: luciferase converts chemical energy into light using luciferin, ATP and O2 in the presence of Mg2+. Within a defined concentration range, luminescence intensity is linearly proportional to ATP concentration, which in turn correlates linearly with the number of viable cells. |
| Detection Method | Luminescence (luciferase bioluminescence, read on a luminometer or luminescence-capable plate reader). |
| Sample Type | Cultured cells in multiwell plates (e.g., 96-well format). |
| Performance Range / Specifications | Wide linear range: good linearity from 100 to 20,000 cells per well in a 96-well plate, although the upper detection limit varies among different cell types. Easy to use: the detection reagent supplied in the kit is ready-to-use, with stable readings and fast detection; the assay is completed in approximately 10 min without washing cells or changing/removing the culture medium. Excellent stability: the luminescent signal has a half-life of up to 3 h, and the kit retains more than 90% of its activity after 30 days at room temperature or 60 days at 2-8 °C. |
| Sensitivity / LOD | Detects as few as 100 cells per well in a 96-well plate. |
| Reaction Conditions / Protocol | Add the ready-to-use detection reagent directly to the cell culture; no cell washing and no medium replacement or removal are required. Detection is completed in approximately 10 min. |
| Components / Formulation | Ready-to-use ATP detection reagent (luciferase-based luminescent reagent). |
| Storage Conditions | Store at -25 to -15 °C. |
| Shelf Life | 2 years |
| Package Specifications | 10 mL 100 mL 10 x 100 mL |
| Product Form | Liquid, ready-to-use detection reagent. |
| Expiration Date / Stability | Valid for 2 years when stored at -25 to -15 °C. The kit retains more than 90% activity after 60 days at 4 °C or approximately 30 days at room temperature (24.5 °C), and 10 repeated freeze-thaw cycles have almost no effect on product activity. The luminescent signal remains stable even after 5 h of incubation. |
| Regulatory / Compliance | For research use only. |
| Compatibility | Suitable for cell viability and cell proliferation assays in 96-well plate formats; compatible with luminometers and luminescence-capable microplate readers. |
| Application Notes / Precautions | The luminescence values of this product are comparable to those of mainstream commercial products, with good linearity within 100,000 cells. The signal remains stable after 5 h of incubation, allowing flexible reading schedules. The upper limit of the linear cell number range varies among different cell types; optimization for specific cell lines is recommended. |
For research use only, not for clinical use.
