| Product Name | Fluor 488 EdU Cell Proliferation Assay Kit (for Plant Cells) |
| Catalog No. | RESK-0168 |
| Description | Plant cells contain a cell wall, so BrdU antibody-based detection methods usually require digestion of the plant cell wall, which can introduce interfering impurities and even disrupt important morphological characteristics of the cells, greatly reducing detection reliability. Both EdU and Fluor series dye molecules are small and can easily pass through the cell wall barrier, enabling detection without cell wall digestion. Moreover, the method requires no DNA denaturation, antigen retrieval, or antigen-antibody reaction, and accurately detects cell proliferation associated with plant growth, development, differentiation, and other traits, offering greater convenience, speed, and sensitivity. The EdU reagent in this kit contains an alkyne group, while the Fluor 488 Azide dye reagent contains an azide group. Spectral properties: Fluor 488 Azide, Ex/Em = 495/519 nm; Hoechst 33342, Ex/Em = 350/461 nm (bound to DNA). |
| Intended Use | For the detection of cell proliferation in plant cells during growth, development, and differentiation. For research use only. |
| Principle / Technology | EdU is incorporated into newly synthesized DNA of proliferating plant cells, and its alkyne group is labeled with the small-molecule Fluor 488 Azide dye via click chemistry (copper-catalyzed azide-alkyne cycloaddition). The small dye and EdU molecules penetrate the plant cell wall barrier, so no cell wall digestion, DNA denaturation, antigen retrieval, or antibody reaction is required. |
