| Product Name | EdU-488 Cell Proliferation Assay Kit, for FACS and FM |
| Catalog No. | REKI-0040 |
| Description | Nucleoside incorporation kit that measures proliferation through direct DNA synthesis detection, compatible with flow cytometry and fluorescence microscopy in a 100-test format. EdU, a thymidine analog, is incorporated into newly synthesized DNA during S phase, and its alkyne group then reacts with an azide fluorescent probe in a copper-catalyzed click reaction, labeling new DNA green. Compared with the older BrdU approach, no DNA denaturation and no antibody incubation are needed, the whole procedure finishes in about 2.5 hours, and the small azide dye diffuses far better than a labeled antibody so even single proliferating cells register. The reaction also preserves nuclear morphology and allows antibody or fluorescent protein co-labeling. Store at -20 °C; shelf life is 12 months. |
| Intended Use | Direct detection of DNA synthesis for proliferation, genotoxicity and antitumour efficacy studies |
| Principle / Technology | EdU incorporates into S-phase DNA and its alkyne couples to an azide green probe through a copper-catalyzed click reaction |
| Specificity | 100 T; green fluorescence channel; total detection time about 2.5 hours; no DNA denaturation; 12 month shelf life |
| Reaction Conditions / Protocol | Incubate the cells with EdU, fix and permeabilize, run the click reaction with the azide probe and acquire the green signal |
| Storage Conditions | -20 °C |
| Package Specifications | 100 T |
| Key Features | Three-step workflow without antibodies or denaturation; radioactivity-free; compatible with co-staining; 12 month shelf life |
