| Product Name | Ammonia Assay Reagent |
| Catalog No. | CMTR-HMM-0032 |
| Description | Ammonia is an important nitrogen source in biological systems. Nitrogen is essential for the synthesis of amino acids, which are components of proteins. Ammonia is a metabolic product produced by the deamination of amino acids. It plays a crucial role in both normal and abnormal physiological functions of animals, such as maintaining normal acid-base balance. |
| Application | This product is used to measure ammonia and ammonium levels in biological samples. |
| Principle | Ammonia and ammonium are converted into a product that reacts with the probe to produce color (λmax = 570 nm), which can be easily quantified using an enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA) reader. This kit can detect 1 nmol (approximately 20 µM) of total ammonia and ammonium, with sensitivity far exceeding that of NADPH-based ammonia measurement methods. |
| Assay Type | Quantitative |
| Detection Method | Colorimetric |
| Applicable Instruments | Microplate reader |
| Detection Time | 1 h |
| Sample Type | Cell culture media, Other biological fluids, Cell lysate, Serum, Plasma, Urine, Tissue extracts |
| Detection Limit | 20 µM |
| Procedure | 1. Add the sample and standard to the wells. 2. Add the reaction mixture and incubate at 37°C for 60 minutes. 3. Analyze using a microplate reader. |
| Storage | -20°C |
