Product Name Albumin Content Assay Reagent-Bromocresol Purple Colorimetry (Visible Spectrophotometer)
Catalog No. PTR-HMM-0051
Description Albumin is an important plasma protein primarily synthesized and secreted into the bloodstream by the liver. It performs multiple vital functions and physiological roles, including binding with various nutrients, hormones, and medications to maintain nutritional balance and plasma osmotic pressure. Additionally, it plays a significant role in immune regulation and antioxidant processes.
Application Albumin carries a positive charge in an acidic environment. In the presence of nonionic surfactants, it can bind with negatively charged bromocresol purple (BCP) to form a green complex. The product has a characteristic absorption peak at 603 nm, and the change in absorbance can be used to quantitatively detect albumin content.
Applicable Instruments Visible Spectrophotometer
Number of Testable Samples 48 Samples
Matching 1 mL glass cuvette (d=10 mm)
Detection Time 2 h (48 Samples)
Detection Method Bromocresol Purple Colorimetry
Spectral Parameters 603 nm
Signal Response Incremental
Notes If the ∆A measurement is greater than 0.4, it is recommended to dilute the sample with the extraction solution before measurement; if the ∆A measurement is less than 0.01 or the A measurement is close to the A blank, it is recommended to increase the sample volume before measurement and adjust the calculation accordingly; If the sample becomes turbid after adding the color developer, it is recommended to dilute the sample with the extraction solution before measurement and adjust the calculation accordingly.
