Product Name Surface Decontamination Wipes, Pre-Saturated, RNase/DNase-Free
Catalog No. ATRCS-0020
Description Pre-saturated disposable wipes for rapid decontamination of laboratory surfaces, equipment exteriors, and gloves. Each wipe is saturated with a validated nucleic acid-degrading and nuclease-inactivating solution that eliminates DNA, RNA, RNase, and DNase contamination within 60 seconds of contact. The durable non-woven fabric resists tearing during use on irregular surfaces.
Intended Use Convenient wipe-based decontamination of PCR workstations, biosafety cabinets, centrifuges, pipettes, and laboratory benches in molecular diagnostics and forensic DNA laboratories.
Principle / Technology Combined chemical degradation of nucleic acids and inactivation of nucleases with physical removal via non-woven fabric matrix
Detection Method Remove wipe from canister; wipe surface thoroughly with overlapping strokes; allow surface to air dry (approximately 60 seconds); no rinsing required
Components / Formulation Non-woven polypropylene/wood pulp fabric pre-saturated with nucleic acid degradation solution (hydrogen peroxide-based oxidative system, chelating agents, surfactants)
Storage Conditions Store at 15–30 °C; keep lid tightly closed to prevent evaporation
Shelf Life 18 months from manufacture date in unopened canister; use within 90 days after opening
Package Specifications 50 wipes/canister, 100 wipes/canister, 6 canisters/case
Product Form Pre-saturated disposable wipe, 200 mm × 250 mm
Key Features Validated to eliminate >99.9% of amplifiable DNA within 60 seconds; individually tested lot for RNase and DNase absence; durable fabric withstands scrubbing without tearing; resealable canister maintains saturation; DNA-free certified by qPCR testing
Purity Each lot tested negative for RNase, DNase, and amplifiable human DNA by qPCR
Concentration As specified (concentrate or ready-to-use)
Activity / Unit Definition Cleaning efficacy validated by instrument carryover testing
Molecular Weight Not applicable — detergent/surfactant formulations
Source / Origin Synthetic detergent and surfactant components
pH Range / Optimal pH pH 5.5–6.5 (saturating solution)
Shipping Conditions Ambient temperature; protect from excessive heat (>40 °C) which may accelerate evaporation
Expiration Date / Stability 18 months unopened; 90 days after opening when lid is properly sealed after each use; discard if wipes appear dry or discolored
Regulatory / Compliance For laboratory and forensic use only; not classified as dangerous goods for transport; ISO 18385 compliant for forensic DNA applications
Compatibility Compatible with stainless steel, polypropylene, glass, acrylic, epoxy, and most painted laboratory surfaces; test on anodized aluminum and powder-coated surfaces before use; may cause bleaching of colored fabrics
Recommended Buffer System Use undiluted or dilute per instrument manufacturer specification
Application Notes / Precautions Use one wipe per square meter of surface area for optimal decontamination. For vertical surfaces, wipe from top to bottom. Allow full air drying before commencing PCR setup or other sensitive procedures. Replace lid immediately after removing wipe to maintain saturation of remaining wipes.
Batch-to-Batch Consistency pH and conductivity within ±5% of reference lot; cleaning efficacy validated
