Product Name |
Serum Iron Content Assay Kit (Visible Spectrophotometers) |
Catalog No. |
BBITK-HMM-0005 |
Description |
Iron is one of the essential trace elements in human body, and is also the main component of hemoglobin, myoglobin, cytochrome and other enzyme systems. It plays an important role in oxygen transport and fat oxidation. Iron deficiency can easily cause anemia, metabolic disorders and affect the immune function of the body. |

Detection Principle |
Sodium sulfite can reduce Fe3+ to generate Fe2+, Fe2+ further color development with 2,2'-bipyridine, the product has a characteristic absorption peak at 520 nm, through the absorbance value can be quantitatively detected by the change of serum iron levels. |

Note |
If the absorbance value exceeds the linear range of the standard absorbance value: higher than the highest value, it is recommended to dilute the serum (plasma) to be tested appropriately before measurement, lower than the lowest value, it is recommended to increase the sample volume appropriately before measurement, and the calculation is modified accordingly; the validity period of reagent 2 is relatively short after the preparation of reagent 2, in order to facilitate the experimental arrangements, a bottle is attached as a spare, each bottle can meet the determination of at least 30 samples. |
