| Product Name | Serum Amylase (AMY) Activity Assay Kit (Visible Spectrophotometers) |
| Catalog No. | BBITK-HMM-0029 |
| Description | Serum amylase (AMY) belongs to α -amylase and mainly exists in tissues and secretions such as the pancreas, salivary glands and small intestine. Its main function is to hydrolyze the α-1,4 glycosidic bonds within polysaccharide molecules in an irregular manner, generating a mixture of oligosaccharides, maltose and glucose for absorption and utilization by the body. |
| Testing Equipment | Visible Spectrophotometers |
| Matching | 1 mL glass cuvette (d=10 mm) |
| Number of Testable Samples | 24 Samples |
| Estimated Measurement Time | 3 h (24 Samples) |
| Storage | Store at 4°C |
| Self-contained Reagents | / |
| Detection Principle | Serum amylase can catalyze the hydrolysis of α-1,4 glycosidic bond in starch molecule to produce glucose, maltose and dextrin, etc. Iodine can combine with unhydrolyzed starch to form a complex, and the product has a characteristic absorption peak at 570 nm, and the change of the absorbance value can be used to characterize the activity of serum amylase. |
| Detection Methods | Starch-Iodine Colorimetric Method |
| Detection Wavelength | 570 nm |
| Signal Response | Decremental |
| Note | Absorbance value should be determined within 15 min after color development is completed, if more samples are detected, it is recommended to be determined in batches; if A is outside the linear range of standard absorbance value: higher than the highest value, it is recommended to dilute the crude enzyme solution appropriately before determination; lower than the lowest value, it is recommended to appropriately prolong the enzyme reaction time or increase the amount of samples before determination, and the calculations should be modified accordingly. |
