Product Name Polybrene Transduction Enhancement Reagent, 10 mg/mL
Catalog No. ATR-CTR-0021
Description Sterile 10 mg/mL polybrene (hexadimethrine bromide) solution for lentiviral and retroviral transduction enhancement. The cationic polymer neutralizes charge repulsion between virions and cell surface, increasing transduction efficiency 2-10 fold. Essential for stable cell line generation and CRISPR sgRNA library delivery via lentiviral vectors.
Intended Use Lentiviral/retroviral transduction enhancement; stable cell line generation; CRISPR sgRNA library transduction; improvement of low-titer viral preparations.
Principle / Technology Polybrene polycation neutralizes electrostatic repulsion between negatively charged virion envelope and cell surface heparan sulfate proteoglycans, facilitating virus adsorption and membrane fusion
Detection Method Add to culture medium at 4-8 µg/mL final before viral transduction; incubate 4-24 hr; wash and replace medium
Components / Formulation Hexadimethrine bromide, 10 mg/mL in sterile 0.9% NaCl; 0.22 µm filtered
