Product Name Phenol-Guanidinium Total RNA Isolation Reagent
Catalog No. DREK-0103
Description A single-phase phenol/guanidinium reagent for strong sample lysis and rapid RNase inactivation. Chloroform partitioning followed by isopropanol precipitation yields high-quality total RNA from diverse biological samples.
Intended Use Total RNA isolation for RT-PCR, qRT-PCR, Northern blotting, dot blotting, in vitro translation and high-throughput sequencing.
Principle / Technology Phenol/guanidinium lysis, chloroform-induced phase separation, recovery of the aqueous RNA phase, isopropanol precipitation and ethanol washing.
Detection Method Downstream RNA analysis.
Sample Type Cultured cells, animal tissues, plant tissues, large fungi and compatible biological samples.
Performance Range / Specifications Strong lysis and RNase-inactivation capacity with high RNA yield; supplied in 100 mL and 200 mL formats.
Specificity Phase partitioning separates RNA into the aqueous phase while DNA and protein remain in the interphase and organic phase.
Reaction Conditions / Protocol Homogenize the sample in the reagent, add chloroform, centrifuge at 2-8°C, transfer the aqueous phase, precipitate RNA with isopropanol, wash with 75% ethanol and dissolve.
Components / Formulation Ready-to-use single-phase phenol/guanidinium RNA isolation reagent.
Package Specifications 100 mL; 200 mL.
Product Form Liquid phenol/guanidinium RNA isolation reagent.
Quality Control RNA yield, purity and integrity are evaluated across representative cell, animal tissue and plant samples.
Key Features Strong lysis; broad sample compatibility; high RNA yield; rapid RNase inactivation.
Compatibility RT-PCR, qRT-PCR, blotting, in vitro translation and sequencing workflows.
Application Notes / Precautions Use appropriate chemical protection and work in a ventilated area. Perform phase separation at 2-8°C and avoid disturbing the interphase when collecting the aqueous layer.
Batch-to-Batch Consistency RNA yield and integrity are controlled across production batches.
