| Product Name | Mycoplasma Pneumoniae Nucleic Acid Detection Reagent (TaqMan qPCR) |
| Catalog No. | NATR-HMM-0036 |
| Description | Mycoplasma pneumonia, also known as primary atypical pneumonia or cold agglutinin-positive pneumonia, is a type of “atypical pneumonia” caused by Mycoplasma pneumoniae (MP) infection, presenting with interstitial pneumonia and bronchiolitis-like changes. It accounts for 10%–40% of community-acquired pneumonia in children. Pulmonary lesions present as confluent bronchopneumonia and interstitial pneumonia, accompanied by bronchitis. Alveoli contain minimal inflammatory exudate, and focal atelectasis, consolidation, and emphysema may occur. Clinically, it manifests as persistent severe coughing due to pulmonary inflammation. MP is one of the primary pathogens causing pneumonia and other respiratory infections in children. Mycoplasma pneumoniae can cause tonsillitis, rhinitis, otitis media, tracheitis, bronchiolitis, and pneumonia; young children are more prone to upper respiratory tract infections; school-age children are more prone to pneumonia. |
