Description Hemoglobin is one of the most commonly used indicators for screening and clinical diagnosis of anemia. Decreased hemoglobin concentration is commonly seen in various types of anemia caused by bleeding, iron deficiency, vitamin B12 or folic acid, while increased hemoglobin concentration is most commonly seen in true erythrocytosis, cyanotic congenital heart disease, and disorders due to various clinical causes such as heat stroke and dehydration. Therefore, hemoglobin level is an important clinical indicator for the diagnosis of various diseases such as anemia, erythrocytosis and dehydration.
