Product Name Conventional Phenol-Guanidinium Total RNA Extraction Reagent
Catalog No. DREK-0106
Description A conventional phenol/guanidinium reagent with strong lysis and rapid RNase inactivation for total RNA isolation from cultured cells, animal tissues, microorganisms and plant tissues with low secondary-metabolite content.
Intended Use Total RNA isolation from cell and tissue samples for downstream RNA analysis.
Principle / Technology Phenol/guanidinium lysis, chloroform phase separation, aqueous-phase recovery and isopropanol precipitation.
Detection Method Downstream RNA analysis.
Sample Type Cultured cells, animal tissues, microorganisms and simple plant tissues such as seedlings and young leaves.
Performance Range / Specifications Strong sample lysis with rapid protection of RNA integrity; supplied as 100 mL.
Specificity Phase separation partitions RNA into the aqueous phase while reducing DNA and protein carryover.
Reaction Conditions / Protocol Homogenize the sample in the reagent, add chloroform, centrifuge at 2-8°C, collect the aqueous phase, precipitate RNA with isopropanol, wash and dissolve.
Components / Formulation Ready-to-use phenol/guanidinium total RNA extraction reagent.
Storage Conditions Store at 4°C protected from light.
Package Specifications 100 mL.
Product Form Liquid phenol/guanidinium RNA extraction reagent.
Quality Control RNA yield, purity and integrity are assessed using representative cell and tissue samples.
Key Features Strong lysis; broad compatibility with cells, tissues and microorganisms; rapid RNase inactivation; established phase-separation workflow.
Compatibility RT-PCR, qPCR, blotting and other RNA-analysis workflows.
Application Notes / Precautions Use a fume hood and suitable personal protective equipment. Collect the aqueous phase carefully to avoid DNA and protein carryover.
Batch-to-Batch Consistency RNA yield and integrity are controlled across production batches.
