Product Name Cationic Lipid Transfection Reagent, High Efficiency for Adherent Cells
Catalog No. ATR-CTR-0001
Description A second-generation cationic lipid-based transfection reagent formulated for the highly efficient delivery of plasmid DNA into a wide variety of adherent mammalian cell lines with minimal cytotoxicity.
Intended Use Transient and stable transfection of plasmid DNA into adherent mammalian cell lines for protein overexpression, reporter gene assays, shRNA expression, and gene function studies in research laboratories.
Principle / Technology Cationic lipid molecules complex with negatively charged DNA phosphate backbone through electrostatic interactions to form lipoplexes; the net positive charge facilitates binding to the negatively charged cell surface glycocalyx, followed by endocytosis and endosomal escape.
Detection Method Reporter gene expression (GFP, luciferase), antibiotic resistance colony formation for stable transfection, flow cytometric quantification of transfection efficiency
Sample Type Adherent mammalian cell lines: HEK293, HeLa, COS-7, NIH/3T3, CHO-K1, A549, MCF-7, HCT116
Performance Range / Specifications Transfection efficiency 70–95% for HEK293 cells; 50–80% for HeLa and COS-7; cell viability >90% 24 hours post-transfection
Sensitivity / LOD N/A
Specificity N/A
Reaction Conditions / Protocol Dilute DNA in Opti-MEM or serum-free medium; dilute reagent separately; mix DNA and reagent at 1:3 ratio (w/w); incubate 5–20 min for complex formation; add complexes dropwise to cells in complete medium; assay 24–48 hours post-transfection.
Components / Formulation Proprietary blend of cationic lipid, co-lipid (DOPE), and neutral lipid in ethanol-water vehicle, 0.2 µm filtered
Storage Conditions 2–8°C; do not freeze
Shelf Life 12 months
Package Specifications 0.75 mL (sufficient for 125–250 transfections in 24-well format), 1.5 mL, 5 mL
Product Form Liquid, sterile-filtered
Quality Control Transfection efficiency and cytotoxicity testing with HEK293 and HeLa standard, sterility, endotoxin <0.5 EU/mL
Key Features High efficiency; broad cell compatibility; serum-compatible protocol; ready to use; validated for common adherent cell lines; stable at 4°C
