| Product Name | Carcinoembryonic Antigen (CEA) Assay Reagent, Magnetic Particle Based Chemiluminescent Immunoassay |
| Catalog No. | TMTR-HMM-0018 |
| Description | Carcinoembryonic Antigen (CEA) is composed of several glycoproteins with a molecular weight of 175-200 KD, which vary due to the different amounts of sugars and amino acids they contain. Although the biological function of CEA has not been well defined, it remains the most widely used marker for colorectal cancer. Apart from colorectal cancer, other malignant tumors such as breast cancer, lung cancer, stomach cancer, pancreatic cancer and ovarian cancer can all cause an increase in CEA levels. Benign conditions such as pneumonia, inflammation of the gastrointestinal tract, and benign liver tumors can also cause CEA levels to be higher than normal. The content of CEA in the serum of healthy adults is no more than 5.0ng/mL. When its content exceeds five times the normal value, it is considered a manifestation of malignant tumor. Due to the overlap of malignant and non-malignant conditions, merely measuring the content of CEA cannot be used as a criterion for malignant tumors. |
