Product Introduction Mag-NH2 are highly uniform, superparamagnetic beads with a diameter of 2 microns and a surface functionalized with primary amine (-NH2) groups. This small size provides a large surface-area-to-volume ratio, ideal for developing high-sensitivity immunoassays or for applications requiring a stable suspension. The amine groups serve as a versatile platform for covalent conjugation to a wide range of biomolecules (antibodies, antigens, oligonucleotides) via well-established crosslinking chemistries, such as glutaraldehyde or EDC/sulfo-NHS.
Product Application • Development of high-sensitivity chemiluminescent or fluorescent immunoassays.
• Conjugation and immobilization of capture antibodies for protein detection.
• Preparation of nucleic acid capture beads for hybridization-based assays.
• Cell sorting and separation after conjugation to specific ligands.
Product Advantages • Small Size for High Sensitivity: The 2µm diameter minimizes sedimentation and promotes stable suspensions, which is critical for homogeneous assay formats and leads to faster binding kinetics and potentially higher assay sensitivity.
• Reactive Amino Surface: Provides abundant primary amine groups for reliable and stable covalent coupling, offering more control over ligand orientation and density compared to passive adsorption.
• Exceptional Uniformity: Tight size distribution ensures consistent bead behavior, binding capacity, and signal generation, which is paramount for developing reproducible quantitative assays.
• Superparamagnetic Properties: Beads are magnetically responsive only when placed in a magnetic field, preventing aggregation during storage and ensuring easy redispersion and efficient magnetic separation.
