Description Alta DiagnoTech streptavidin magnetic beads use covalently coupled streptavidin on uniform superparamagnetic particles for rapid capture and separation of biotinylated antibodies, nucleic acids, proteins and other ligands. Polymer-particle and agarose magnetic-bead formats cover a broad size range and support automated high-throughput handling.
Intended Use Capture and magnetic separation of biotinylated antibodies, nucleic acids, proteins and other ligand molecules.
Principle / Technology High-affinity streptavidin-biotin binding with an affinity constant of approximately 10^-15.
Performance Range / Specifications Particle options include 300 nm, 1, 2, 2.8, 3 and 5 µm at 10 mg/mL plus 10-30 µm agarose magnetic beads at 20% v/v. Binding data across the 1 µm, 2 µm, 5 µm and 300 nm variants are 500, 400, 400 and 450 pmol/mg for a 24-nt biotinylated oligonucleotide and 20, 20, 15 and 15 µg/mg for biotinylated IgG.
Sensitivity / LOD Application examples detect biotinylated IgG down to 6.25 ng/mL and biotinylated DNA probe down to 6.25 fmol/mL.
