Product Name Reagent Reservoirs, 25 mL, Polystyrene, Sterile, Divided, Individually Wrapped
Catalog No. IGM-HMM-0070
Description Sterile 25 mL polystyrene reagent reservoirs designed for multi-channel pipetting with 8-channel and 12-channel pipettes in ELISA, PCR setup, cell culture media dispensing, and high-throughput liquid handling workflows. Each reservoir is divided into an 8-well trough design with individual V-shaped bottom channels that minimize dead volume (<0.5 mL residual per channel) and allow simultaneous pipetting of different reagents. The reservoirs are manufactured from crystal-clear virgin polystyrene, allowing easy visualization of reagent levels and color. Each reservoir is individually wrapped and gamma-irradiated (sterility assurance level 10^-6). The hydrophobic polystyrene surface minimizes reagent binding for most aqueous solutions. Supplied in cases of 100 units.
Intended Use Multi-channel pipetting of reagents for: ELISA plate coating, blocking, washing, and detection steps; 96-well and 384-well PCR setup (master mix and template dispensing); cell culture media and treatment dispensing; serial dilutions in 96-well format; and high-throughput screening assays.
Principle / Technology Divided trough design with 8 individual channels aligned to the spacing of standard 8-channel pipettes (9 mm center-to-center). The V-shaped bottom of each channel funnels liquid to the lowest point, allowing near-complete aspiration and minimizing reagent waste. Gamma irradiation ensures sterility without chemical residues (no ethylene oxide), making reservoirs suitable for cell culture use.
Detection Method 1) Aseptically remove reservoir from individual packaging in biosafety cabinet if sterility required; 2) Pour or pipette reagent into desired channel(s); 3) Use multi-channel pipette to aspirate from channel; 4) Tilt reservoir slightly toward pipette tips during aspiration of final volume to minimize dead volume; 5) Discard reservoir after single use or reuse within same experiment for same reagent.
Sample Type Liquid reagents: aqueous buffers, enzyme solutions, antibody dilutions, PCR master mixes, cell culture media, drug treatment solutions; not suitable for organic solvents (DMSO >10%, ethanol, acetone — will craze polystyrene).
Performance Range / Specifications Volume capacity: 25 mL total (approximately 3 mL per channel); dead volume: <0.5 mL per channel with standard pipette tip; dimensional: approximately 70 mm wide x 125 mm long x 25 mm deep; material: virgin polystyrene (crystal clear); sterility: SAL 10^-6 (gamma irradiated); non-pyrogenic: endotoxin <0.1 EU/device; individually wrapped.
Sensitivity / LOD Not applicable — consumable plasticware.
Specificity Polystyrene surface: hydrophobic, suitable for aqueous solutions; recommended for most ELISA, PCR, and cell culture applications; not recommended for protein solutions at very low concentrations (<1 ug/mL) which may adsorb to hydrophobic polystyrene.
Reaction Conditions / Protocol Not applicable — consumable plasticware; single-use recommended; may be reused within same experiment for same reagent if sterility is not critical.
Components / Formulation 100 individually wrapped sterile 25 mL divided reagent reservoirs per case.
Storage Conditions Store at RT (15-25 C) in original packaging, protected from dust and moisture; do not expose to UV light for extended periods (polystyrene yellows).
Shelf Life 36 months from date of manufacture at RT in original sealed packaging.
Package Specifications Case of 100 individually wrapped reservoirs.
Product Form Crystal-clear polystyrene reservoir; 8-channel divided design; V-bottom channels; individually wrapped in medical-grade paper/plastic peel pouch.
Quality Control Each lot tested: sterility (no growth after 14-day incubation in TSB and FTM media); endotoxin: <0.1 EU/device; dimensional tolerances: within 1 mm of specification; channel volume: >=3 mL per channel; visual inspection: no cracks, particulates, or molding defects; DNase/RNase: not detected.
Key Features Individually wrapped and sterile; 8-channel divided design; V-bottom for low dead volume (<0.5 mL); crystal clear polystyrene; 25 mL total capacity; gamma irradiated; non-pyrogenic; DNase/RNase free.
Purity Medical-grade virgin polystyrene; no plasticizers, slip agents, or mold release agents; no detectable leachables by LC-MS.
Concentration Not applicable — consumable; 25 mL total capacity, approximately 3 mL per channel.
Activity / Unit Definition Not applicable — consumable.
Molecular Weight Polystyrene: (C8H8)n, average MW 200,000-300,000 g/mol.
Source / Origin Molded from virgin polystyrene resin (USP Class VI); manufactured in ISO Class 8 cleanroom; gamma irradiated at 25-40 kGy; no animal-derived components.
pH Range / Optimal pH Polystyrene stable at pH 3.0-11.0; avoid strong acids (pH <2) and strong bases (pH >12) which may etch or craze polystyrene.
Shipping Conditions Ambient temperature; protect from crushing.
Expiration Date / Stability 36 months at RT in original packaging; after opening individual wrap, use immediately or discard (sterility not guaranteed after opening).
Regulatory / Compliance For research use only; not for diagnostic or therapeutic use; not for human implantation or injection. Manufactured under ISO 13485 quality management system. CE marked for laboratory use.
Compatibility Compatible with aqueous solutions: buffers (PBS, Tris, HEPES, carbonate, phosphate), cell culture media (DMEM, RPMI, MEM), enzyme solutions, antibody solutions, PCR master mixes, DNA/RNA solutions, and protein solutions (>10 ug/mL). Not compatible with: organic solvents (DMSO >10%, DMF, ethanol, methanol, acetone, chloroform — dissolves or crazes polystyrene); strong acids (concentrated HCl, HNO3, H2SO4); strong bases (NaOH >1 M). For organic solvent use, select polypropylene reservoirs.
Recommended Buffer System Not applicable — consumable reservoir.
Application Notes / Precautions The V-bottom channel design reduces dead volume but may trap bubbles under the pipette tip if the channel is nearly empty. Tilt the reservoir slightly during final aspiration. For very small volumes (<100 uL per channel), pre-wet pipette tips by aspirating and dispensing once before taking the sample aliquot. For protein solutions at low concentration (<10 ug/mL), consider using low-protein-binding reservoirs or pre-blocking with 1% BSA in PBS for 30 min followed by washing to reduce adsorptive losses. The sterile individual wrap allows introduction into biosafety cabinets without chemical decontamination. For non-sterile applications (PCR setup), reservoirs may be reused within the same experiment if cross-contamination is not a concern.
Batch-to-Batch Consistency Sterility SAL 10^-6 confirmed for every lot; dimensional tolerances within specification; endotoxin <0.1 EU/device; no visible defects.

For research use only, not for clinical use.
