| Principle / Technology | Proteins reduce Cu2+ to Cu+ in an alkaline medium; the resulting Cu+ ions chelate with bicinchoninic acid to form a purple-colored complex with strong absorbance at 562 nm. The proprietary compatibility reagent neutralizes the effect of reducing agents. |
