Product Name Papanicolaou Stain Kit, for Cervical Cytology
Catalog No. ATRSA-0013
Description A complete Pap stain kit following the standard Papanicolaou staining protocol for the differential staining of cellular components in gynecological and non-gynecological cytology specimens.
Intended Use Routine staining of cervical-vaginal smears (Pap test), fine needle aspiration specimens, body cavity fluids, and urinary cytology preparations for cancer screening and diagnostic cytopathology.
Principle / Technology Hematoxylin stains nuclei; OG-6 counterstain highlights keratin and mature squamous cells orange; EA polychrome stain (eosin, light green, Bismarck brown) differentiates cytoplasm of squamous cells, glandular cells, and inflammatory cells.
Detection Method Bright-field light microscopy
Sample Type Cervical-vaginal smears (conventional and liquid-based), FNA slides, effusion cytology, urine cytology, brush cytology
Performance Range / Specifications Nuclear chromatin detail clearly resolved; cytoplasmic staining differentiates squamous, glandular, and metaplastic cells
Sensitivity / LOD N/A
Specificity Nuclei: blue-black; superficial squamous cells: pink-orange; intermediate/parabasal cells: blue-green; glandular cells: blue-green granular
Reaction Conditions / Protocol Fix smears in 95% ethanol immediately; hydrate through graded alcohols; hematoxylin 5 min; rinse; OG-6 1.5 min; rinse in 95% ethanol; EA-50 2.5 min; dehydrate in absolute ethanol; clear in xylene; mount.
Components / Formulation Gill's Hematoxylin, OG-6 (Orange G in phosphotungstic acid), EA-50 (Eosin Y, Light Green SF, Bismarck Brown Y in ethanol), ethanol grades not included
Storage Conditions 15–30°C, tightly sealed, protect from light, OG-6 and EA at 2–8°C to extend stability
Shelf Life 12 months
Package Specifications Kit for 500 slides
Product Form Liquid reagents
Quality Control Staining quality validation with reference cervical smear slides, cytoplasmic color differentiation verification
