Description A ready-to-use colloidal Coomassie Brilliant Blue R-250 staining solution for the visualization of proteins separated by SDS-PAGE with detection sensitivity down to 8–10 nanograms per band.
Intended Use Detection of total protein bands in polyacrylamide gels following SDS-PAGE or native PAGE for purity assessment, molecular weight determination, and Western blot loading control visualization.
Principle / Technology Coomassie R-250 dye binds to basic amino acid residues (arginine, lysine, histidine) and aromatic residues through electrostatic and hydrophobic interactions, forming a blue protein-dye complex visible in the gel matrix.
Detection Method Densitometric analysis of stained gels at 595 nm, visual inspection against white light illuminator
