| Product Name | Hemoglobin (Hb) Content Assay Reagent (Microplate Reader) |
| Catalog No. | PTR-HMM-0040 |
| Description | Hemoglobin (Hemoglobin) is a cofactor protein containing hemoglobin found in red blood cells, composed of two α chains and two β chains, totaling four polypeptide chains. Each chain contains a cyclic hemoglobin molecule containing iron atoms. Hemoglobin transports oxygen to the body's organs and tissues and transports carbon dioxide from the organs and tissues back to the lungs for gas exchange. Changes in its concentration not only reflect the body's ability to produce red blood cells but also play a crucial role in the diagnosis of blood disorders. |
| Application | Hemoglobin content is determined using an improved hydroxide-alkali method: hemoglobin reacts with a color-developing solution to form a colored compound, which exhibits a characteristic absorption peak at 400 nm. The hemoglobin content can be quantitatively detected by measuring changes in absorbance. |
