| Product Name | Clostridium difficile Nucleic Acid Detection Reagent (TaqMan qPCR) |
| Catalog No. | NATR-HMM-0041 |
| Description | Clostridium difficile (CD) is a Gram-positive anaerobic spore-forming bacterium and one of the primary pathogens causing nosocomial intestinal infections. CD is classified into toxin-producing and non-toxin-producing strains. Toxin-producing CD strains primarily cause Clostridium difficile-associated diarrhea by producing two toxins: enterotoxin A (encoded by tcdA) and cytotoxin B (encoded by tcdB). Some toxin-producing CD strains produce a binary toxin, which is encoded by cdtA and cdtB. Clostridium difficile infections are primarily caused by the overgrowth of toxin-producing Clostridium difficile, leading to intestinal dysbiosis and toxin release. The main clinical symptoms include fever, abdominal pain, and watery diarrhea. |
| Application | This product employs real-time fluorescent quantitative PCR technology for the qualitative detection of Clostridium difficile enterotoxin A gene, cytotoxin B gene, and binary toxin cdtB gene in human fecal samples. The test results can be used for the auxiliary diagnosis of suspected Clostridium difficile infections. |
