Product Name Calcein AM Cell Viability Assay Reagent (CCK-F)
Catalog No. CATR-HMM-0029
Description Calcein AM (Calcein Acetoxymethyl Ester, Chinese name: Calcein AM or Calcein Acetoxymethyl Ester) is a green fluorescent probe that can penetrate cells and is commonly used to measure eukaryotic cell viability or mitochondrial permeability transition pores (MPTP). In recent years, it has also been widely used for detecting cell activity, cytotoxicity, or cell proliferation.
Application This product uses Calcein-AM fluorescent probes to label live cells, enabling simple, rapid, sensitive, and accurate detection of cell activity, cytotoxicity, or cell proliferation.
Applicable Instruments Fluorescence microscope, flow cytometer
Storage Store at -20°C away from light.
Shelf Life 1 year
Features This assay kit offers rapid detection, with cell viability testing completed in approximately 30 minutes. This assay kit features high sensitivity and a wide linear range. It can detect as few as 50 live cells and exhibits excellent linearity within the range of 50 to 50,000 cells. The linear range may vary slightly for different cell lines. This kit is typically recommended for quantitative detection using a fluorescence microplate reader, and can also be used with a flow cytometer for quantitative detection. If necessary, fluorescence microscopy or confocal microscopy can also be used for fluorescent detection of cells.
Notes " If subsequent fluorescence quantification analysis is to be performed using a fluorescence microplate reader, cells must be seeded onto black microplates. Fluorescent dyes are prone to photobleaching; please take care to avoid exposure to light to slow down photobleaching. Calcein AM (1000X) is prone to degradation in humid environments; upon receipt of the product, it is recommended to aliquot it appropriately and store it at -20°C in sealed containers. Since Calcein AM is unstable in aqueous solutions, the Calcein AM detection working solution must be prepared fresh and used immediately; it cannot be prepared in advance and stored frozen. Serum and phenol red in the culture medium may affect Calcein AM staining, potentially enhancing the fluorescent background. It is recommended to wash the cells appropriately before adding the Calcein AM detection working solution.
