Product Name |
BCA Protein Content Assay Reagent |
Catalog No. |
PTR-HMM-0037 |
Description |
The BCA (Bicinchoninic Acid) protein content assay is a commonly used method for total protein quantification. BCA mixed with divalent copper ions forms the BCA working solution. Under alkaline conditions, proteins can reduce Cu²⁺ to Cu⁺, and Cu⁺ can form a purple complex with BCA reagent. The product has a characteristic absorption peak at 562 nm, and the protein concentration of the sample can be quantitatively detected by measuring the change in absorbance. |

Notes |
Copper Solution and PBS Diluent can be stored at 2-8°C for long-term use. If contamination or turbidity is detected, discard the solution. If crystallization or precipitation occurs in BCA Solution under low-temperature conditions, incubate at 37°C to completely dissolve the crystals, which does not affect usability. For your safety and health, please wear a lab coat and disposable gloves during operation. The BCA method for determining protein content is not affected by most chemicals in samples. Samples containing 5% SDS, 5% Triton X-100, 5% Tween 20, 60, 80, and other commonly used concentrations of detergents do not affect the test results. However, chelating agents such as EDTA and EGTA, reducing agents such as DTT and thioglycolic acid, and lipids may affect the test results. Ensure that EDTA is below 10 mM, EGTA is absent, dithiothreitol is below 1 mM, and thioglycolic acid is below 0.01% |
