| Product Name | Bacterial Viability/Toxicity Assay Reagent |
| Catalog No. | CATR-HMM-0003 |
| Description | Bacterial viability/toxicity detection reagents contain two fluorescent dyes: NucGreen, a green nucleic acid dye that stains both live and dead bacteria; and EthD-III, a red nucleic acid dye that stains only dead bacteria with damaged cell membranes. When NucGreen and EthD-III are appropriately mixed, bacteria with intact cell membranes appear green, while bacteria with damaged cell membranes appear green and red in different channels, respectively. |
| Application | This product can be used for bacterial viability/toxicity testing. |
| Spectral Parameters | NucGreen: Ex/Em = 503/530 nm (DNA-bound); EthD-III: Ex/Em = 530/620 nm (DNA-bound)) |
| Applicable Instruments | Fluorescence microscope, flow cytometer |
| Materials to Bring | 96-well cell culture plate; cell samples |
| Storage | Store at -20°C away from light. |
| Features | Wide range of applications: Suitable for most bacteria; Good stability: Strong fluorescence brightness, good anti-quenching properties, stable product, easy to store and transport; Small batch-to-batch variation. |
| Notes | 1. Before use, centrifuge the product briefly to the bottom of the tube, then proceed with subsequent experiments. 2. If using a microplate for detection, allow the sample to stand for 10 minutes, then retain a small amount of bacterial solution for imaging to effectively reduce background noise. 3. To achieve results closer to reality, when merging images, it is recommended to maintain consistent brightness between red and green fluorescence. 4. All fluorescent dyes are subject to quenching. During experimental procedures, please take care to avoid exposure to light to slow down fluorescence quenching. |
For research use only, not for clinical use.
