The method is quick and simple to run and is not easily disturbed by low concentrations of salts, which makes it convenient for fractions collected during purification. Accuracy is poorer for proteins whose tyrosine and tryptophan content differs markedly from the standard protein, and purines, pyrimidines and nucleic acids in the sample interfere with the result, so nucleic-acid-rich samples need care. |
