Product Name Tris-HCl buffer with CAS 1185-53-1 for nucleic acid electrophoresis with 0.1M preparation protocol
Catalog No. ATR-B-YJL-0300
Description Tris-HCl is an indispensable buffering component in both nucleic acid and protein electrophoresis. TAE (Tris-acetate-EDTA) and TBE (Tris-borate-EDTA) buffers are built on a Tris base, and Tris-HCl delivers the stable pH environment needed for nucleic acids to separate by size under an electric field. In SDS-PAGE, it is used to prepare resolving and stacking gel buffers, where precise pH control is critical for protein separation quality. Because the pH of Tris-HCl buffers is strongly affected by temperature, temperature control should be observed during preparation and use.
Intended Use Buffer preparation for nucleic acid electrophoresis (TAE/TBE) and protein electrophoresis (SDS-PAGE).
Reaction Conditions / Protocol To prepare 0.1M Tris-HCl buffer: weigh 1.21 g of Tris base, dissolve in 80 ml of purified water, adjust the pH to the desired value (e.g., 7.4 or 8.0) with 1M hydrochloric acid, then bring the final volume to 100 ml.
