Product Name Tricine-SDS-PAGE Running Buffer, 10× Concentrate
Catalog No. ATR-B-YJL-0192
Description A 10× running buffer concentrate formulated for Tricine-SDS-PAGE, a modified electrophoretic system optimized for resolving low molecular weight proteins and peptides in the 1–100 kDa range. The Tricine-based buffer system provides superior resolution of small polypeptides compared to conventional glycine-SDS-PAGE by slowing the migration rate of the chloride leading ion relative to the Tricine trailing ion.
Intended Use High-resolution electrophoretic separation of low molecular weight proteins and peptides by Tricine-SDS-PAGE.
Principle / Technology Tricine-based discontinuous buffer system for SDS-PAGE with modified Kohlrausch regulating function
Detection Method Coomassie staining, silver staining, or Western blot detection of separated products
Sample Type Purified proteins, cell lysates, peptide mixtures with molecular weights from 1–100 kDa
Performance Range / Specifications Resolution range: linear separation of 1–100 kDa species with optimal resolution for 1–30 kDa peptides
Sensitivity / LOD Detection of peptides as small as 1 kDa with clear band separation
Specificity Buffer specifically formulated for Tricine-SDS-PAGE; not interchangeable with glycine-SDS-PAGE buffer
Reaction Conditions / Protocol Dilute to 1×; use as cathode (top) buffer; anode (bottom) buffer typically 0.2 M Tris-HCl, pH 8.9; run at constant voltage 125 V until dye front reaches bottom
Components / Formulation 10× Tricine-SDS cathode buffer concentrate (1 M Tris, 1 M Tricine, 1% SDS, pH 8.25)
Storage Conditions Room temperature
Shelf Life 18 months at room temperature
Package Specifications 500 mL, 1 L
