| Product Introduction | Sucrose synthase (SS) is a central enzyme in plant carbohydrate metabolism. Unlike invertase, it catalyzes a reversible reaction: Sucrose + UDP ↔ Fructose + UDP-Glucose. Working primarily in the cleavage direction in vivo, it provides UDP-glucose for cell wall (cellulose, callose) and starch biosynthesis, linking sucrose import to growth and storage. This kit allows flexible measurement of SS activity in either the sucrose cleavage or synthesis direction by quantifying the production of key products (UDP or fructose) through coupled colorimetric reactions. |
