| Description | 0.1 M sodium citrate buffer solution, pH 3.0, prepared from trisodium citrate dihydrate and citric acid. The citrate buffer system (pKa₁ 3.13, pKa₂ 4.76, pKa₃ 6.40) provides effective buffering across three pH ranges. At pH 3.0, this buffer is near the first pKa, ideal for acid elution of antibodies in affinity chromatography, antigen retrieval for immunohistochemistry at low pH, and pepsin digestion protocols. |
