Product Name PIPES Buffer, 0.5 M, pH 6.8, Sterile-Filtered
Catalog No. ATR-B-YJL-0191
Description A sterile-filtered 0.5 M PIPES buffer solution at pH 6.8, optimized for calcium phosphate-mediated transfection and other cell biology applications requiring precise pH control in the physiological range. PIPES is a zwitterionic ethanesulfonic acid buffer with a pKa of 6.8, making it nearly ideal for maintaining pH near neutrality. The very low metal ion binding affinity of PIPES makes it particularly suitable for experiments involving divalent cations.
Intended Use pH buffering agent for cell culture, calcium phosphate transfection, and biochemical assays requiring metal-ion-independent buffering.
Principle / Technology Zwitterionic pH buffering with negligible metal chelation capacity
Detection Method pH meter verification
