Product Introduction Neutral invertase (NI) is a key sucrose-cleaving enzyme in plants, hydrolyzing sucrose into glucose and fructose at neutral to alkaline pH optima. It plays distinct roles from acid invertase in sugar metabolism, influencing hexose levels for metabolism, osmoregulation, and sugar signaling. NI activity is involved in plant growth, development, and responses to environmental stimuli. This kit measures NI activity by quantifying the reducing sugars (glucose and fructose) produced from sucrose at a neutral pH, using a sensitive colorimetric method.
Product Application • Research on sucrose partitioning, carbohydrate metabolism, and sugar sensing in plants.
• Studies of plant growth, tuber/root development, and fruit set.
• Investigation of plant responses to abiotic stresses like drought, salinity, and cold.
• Analysis of sink strength and phloem unloading mechanisms.
Product Advantages • pH-Specific Assay: Buffer system is optimized to selectively measure NI activity at pH ~7.0, minimizing interference from vacuolar acid invertase.
• Dual-Product Detection: Measures total hexoses produced, offering high sensitivity.
• High-Throughput Capacity: The 100T format is ideal for large-scale experiments, such as screening plant varieties or time-course studies.
• Plant-Tailored Protocol: Includes specific recommendations for preparing active enzyme extracts from various plant tissues.
