| Description | A microplate format kit, also known as the Folin phenol method, for quantitative measurement of protein concentration. Peptide bonds in the protein combine with copper ions to form a four-coordinate copper complex, which then reacts with the Folin reagent to produce a blue colour that is read by spectrophotometry in an enzyme reader or spectrophotometer at 750 nm. The two-stage reaction gives the assay its sensitivity across a wide range of protein samples. |
