| Product Introduction | α-L-Fucosidase (AFU) is a lysosomal glycosidase that hydrolyzes α-linked fucose residues from glycoproteins, glycolipids, and oligosaccharides. Deficiency in this enzyme causes the rare lysosomal storage disorder fucosidosis. Additionally, altered serum AFU activity has been investigated as a potential biomarker for certain cancers, particularly hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC). This kit measures AFU activity using a synthetic substrate, p-nitrophenyl-α-L-fucopyranoside (pNP-Fuc), which releases yellow p-nitrophenol upon hydrolysis. |
