Product Introduction Alpha-ketoglutarate dehydrogenase (α-KGDH) is a key regulatory enzyme complex (Complex II of the TCA cycle) that catalyzes the irreversible conversion of α-ketoglutarate to succinyl-CoA. This reaction is a major site of NADH and CO₂ production and is highly sensitive to oxidative damage and cellular redox status. Dysfunction of α-KGDH is implicated in neurodegenerative diseases, ischemia-reperfusion injury, and other conditions. This kit measures α-KGDH activity by directly monitoring the reduction of NAD⁺ to NADH at 340 nm, providing a clean and continuous kinetic readout.
