Catalog No. ATR-B-YJL-0252
Description HEPES sodium salt, chemically known as N-(2-hydroxyethyl)piperazine-N'-(2-ethanesulfonic acid) sodium salt, is a zwitterionic Good's buffer supplied as a white powder. It can be prepared as solutions with different pH values and provides an indicator transition range of pH 6.8-8.2. Its buffering performance helps control pH within a defined range, supporting the stability and biological activity of samples. HEPES sodium salt is used in cell culture buffer systems, zwitterionic electrolyte solutions, buffer systems for protein deposition studies by electron microscopy, and reagents for quantitative and selective antigen-antibody measurements.
Intended Use For use as a biological buffer in cell culture, electron microscopy-based protein studies, zwitterionic electrolyte solutions, and antigen-antibody reaction assays.
Principle / Technology As a zwitterionic Good's buffer, HEPES sodium salt resists changes in pH and helps maintain a stable environment for biological samples and reactions.
