Product Name HEPES buffer preparation reagent for laboratory buffer formulation, CAS 7365-45-9
Catalog No. ATR-B-YJL-0302
Description HEPES is a zwitterionic buffering reagent for preparing biologically compatible buffers, with a pKa of 7.55 at 25°C and an effective range of pH 6.8-8.2. To prepare a 1 M solution, dissolve 238.3 g in approximately 800 mL of purified water, adjust with NaOH to the required pH, typically 7.0-7.6, and bring the final volume to 1 L. The resulting buffer is suitable for cell culture, protein research and enzymology, with lower cellular toxicity and stronger pH stability than phosphate buffer.
Intended Use Laboratory preparation of HEPES buffer for cell culture, protein research and enzyme experiments.
Principle / Technology Zwitterionic buffering with a pKa of 7.55 at 25°C and an effective buffering range of pH 6.8-8.2.
Reaction Conditions / Protocol For a 1 M HEPES solution, dissolve 238.3 g of powder in approximately 800 mL of purified water, adjust to the required pH, typically 7.0-7.6, with NaOH, and dilute to a final volume of 1 L. Filter-sterilize and store at 4°C.
Components / Formulation Supplied as HEPES powder; the described 1 M buffer is prepared with purified water and pH-adjusted with sodium hydroxide.
Storage Conditions After filter sterilization, store the prepared buffer at 4°C. Protect HEPES solutions from light.
Package Specifications 25 kg per drum.
