| Description | Phenol red-free variant of Earle's balanced salt powder, formulated without calcium ions, magnesium ions or glucose. The composition draws on potassium chloride, potassium dihydrogen phosphate, sodium chloride, sodium bicarbonate and sodium hydrogen phosphate, with the dye omitted so the wash buffer stays compatible with absorbance and fluorescence readouts. Like the indicator-containing version, this powder suits washing of cultured cells, with neuronal cultures a common application. Dissolve in water and filter-sterilise for aseptic work; autoclaving is not appropriate. Store sealed at room temperature for up to 24 months. |
