Product Name Plasmid Extraction Kit (100 rxns)
Catalog No. SD-HMM-0014
Description The Plasmid Kit uses an improved SDS base lysis method and dual magnetic bead extraction, avoiding high-speed centrifugation or vacuum filtration, which can realize rapid removal of impurities and specific binding of plasmid DNA, respectively. This kit is suitable for extracting plasmid from 1-50mL overnight culture of E.coli, and the extracted plasmid can be used for molecular biology experiments, such as sequencing, in vitro transcription and translation, restriction endonuclease digestion, bacterial transformation, etc. The plasmid can be extracted by using the SDS base lysis method, avoiding high-speed centrifugation or vacuum filtration.

Plasmid DNA extraction is a foundational technique in molecular biology, serving as a critical step for downstream applications such as gene cloning, DNA sequencing, in vitro transcription/translation, bacterial transformation, and cell transfection. As research demands for efficiency, purity, and scalability grow, traditional methods like high-speed centrifugation or vacuum filtration have gradually been replaced by advanced kit-based solutions—our Plasmid Extraction Kit (100 rxns) is developed to address these evolving needs.
This kit is designed specifically for isolating plasmid DNA from E. coli overnight cultures (1–50 mL volume range), a common host strain for plasmid propagation in laboratories. It leverages an improved SDS-based lysis method combined with dual magnetic bead extraction technology: the SDS lysis efficiently breaks down bacterial cell membranes and releases nucleic acids, while the dual magnetic beads enable specific binding of plasmid DNA and rapid removal of impurities (e.g., genomic DNA, proteins, RNA, cell debris) without relying on cumbersome high-speed centrifugation or vacuum filtration.
Importantly, our Plasmid Extraction Kit is intended for research purposes only, not for clinical use (e.g., diagnosis, prevention, or treatment of diseases). It aligns with standard molecular biology research workflows, providing a reliable tool for academic laboratories, biotech companies, and research institutions to obtain high-quality plasmid DNA for experimental use.

Advanced Extraction Technology: Adopts an improved SDS-based lysis method paired with dual magnetic bead extraction. This combination avoids high-speed centrifugation or vacuum filtration, simplifying operation steps while ensuring efficient removal of impurities (genomic DNA, proteins, RNA) and specific binding of plasmid DNA.
Broad Sample Compatibility: Suitable for extracting plasmid DNA from 1–50 mL overnight cultures of E. coli, covering the common culture volume range used in most molecular biology research, making it versatile for different experimental scales.
High-Quality Plasmid Output: The extracted plasmid DNA meets the requirements of multiple downstream molecular biology experiments, including DNA sequencing, in vitro transcription and translation, restriction endonuclease digestion, and bacterial transformation.
Convenient Operation: Eliminates the need for complex equipment (e.g., high-speed centrifuges) and tedious steps (e.g., repeated centrifugation or filtration), reducing hands-on time and lowering the threshold for operation, even for less experienced users.

Time Efficiency: Compared to traditional centrifugation- or filtration-based methods, the dual magnetic bead extraction technology significantly shortens the extraction process, allowing for faster acquisition of purified plasmid DNA, which is crucial for high-throughput experimental workflows.
Purity Assurance: The improved SDS lysis method effectively denatures and precipitates genomic DNA (while plasmid DNA remains soluble due to its covalent closed circular structure), and the dual magnetic beads specifically bind plasmid DNA—this two-step purification ensures low levels of impurities (e.g., genomic DNA, proteins, RNA) in the final product.
Scalability for Routine Use: Provides 100 reactions per kit, which is suitable for laboratories with regular plasmid extraction needs (e.g., weekly or monthly experiments). It reduces the frequency of kit procurement and ensures consistent experimental results across multiple batches.
Equipment Independence: Does not require high-speed centrifuges or vacuum filtration systems, which are often expensive and occupy laboratory space. This makes the kit accessible to small laboratories or field research settings with limited equipment.
Reliable Downstream Compatibility: The purified plasmid DNA is compatible with a wide range of common molecular biology applications, eliminating the need for additional purification steps and ensuring experimental reproducibility.

For research use only, not for clinical use.
