| Product Name | Annexin V-FITC/7-AAD Apoptosis Assay Kit |
| Catalog No. | REKI-0026 |
| Description | Two-color flow cytometry kit that resolves early apoptosis from late apoptosis and necrosis in a 50-test format. Annexin V, a calcium-dependent member of the annexin family, binds phosphatidylserine that translocates to the outer leaflet early in apoptosis, while 7-AAD enters only membrane-compromised cells and labels their DNA with red fluorescence. Compared with PI, 7-AAD emits over a narrower spectrum and interferes less with other channels, making it the preferred companion dye in multicolor panels. FITC absorbs at 490 nm with 525 nm emission and 7-AAD is excited by the 488 nm laser with emission at 647 nm. Store at 2-8 °C protected from light; Annexin V-FITC must not be frozen; shelf life is 12 months. |
| Intended Use | Discrimination of viable, early apoptotic, late apoptotic and necrotic cell populations by flow cytometry |
| Principle / Technology | Annexin V-FITC reports phosphatidylserine externalization and 7-AAD reports loss of membrane integrity, giving four-quadrant separation |
| Specificity | 50 T; FITC excitation 490 nm and emission 525 nm; 7-AAD excitation 488 nm and emission 647 nm; Annexin V-FITC stored unfrozen; 12 month shelf life |
| Reaction Conditions / Protocol | Stain cells with the Annexin V-FITC and 7-AAD working solution in binding buffer, then acquire green and red fluorescence on the flow cytometer |
| Storage Conditions | 2-8 °C, protected from light; do not freeze the Annexin V-FITC component |
| Package Specifications | 50 T |
| Key Features | Narrow 7-AAD emission minimizes channel spillover; four-quadrant apoptosis staging; 12 month shelf life |
For research use only, not for clinical use.
