| Product Name | Human CD3/CD28 T Cell Activation Beads |
| Catalog No. | SM-HMM-0039 |
| Description | Human CD3/CD28 T Cell Activation Magnetic Beads allow for simple and rapid activation and expansion of T cells without the need for feeder cells (antigen-presenting cells) or antigens. The beads are inert, super-paramagnetic beads 5 µm in diameter, similar in size to antigen-presenting cells, and are covalently coupled with both anti-CD3 and anti-CD28 antibodies. Recombinant human IL-2 can be used to stimulate T cell population expansion during cell culture. After activation or expansion, the magnetic beads can be easily removed by a magnetic rack. |
| Storage | Store at 2-8°C, do not freeze. |
| Concentration | 1 x 10^8 beads/mL |
| Applications | This kit is intended for use with peripheral blood mononuclear cells (PBMC) or T cell subsets: including CD3+ T cells, CD4+ T cells, or CD8+ T cells. |
| Product Introduction | These magnetic beads are coated with antibodies against CD3 and CD28, providing a potent and specific stimulus to activate and expand human T cells. CD3 engagement mimics TCR signaling, while CD28 provides a critical co-stimulatory signal. This method is superior to soluble antibodies for generating robust, sustained T cell activation and proliferation, essential for immunotherapy research, CAR-T development, and fundamental immunology studies. |
| Product Application | • In vitro T cell activation and expansion for research • CAR-T cell and adoptive cell therapy development • Studies of T cell signaling, differentiation, and exhaustion • Antigen-specific T cell culture |
| Product Advantages | • Dual-Signal Activation: Provides both Signal 1 (via CD3) and Signal 2 (via CD28) in a physiological ratio on the bead surface, mimicking antigen-presenting cell interaction for optimal activation. • Magnetic Convenience: The beads are paramagnetic, allowing for easy removal from the cell culture after activation via a simple magnet, preventing ongoing stimulation if desired. • Consistent & Defined Stimulus: Offers a reproducible, defined, and controllable activation signal compared to variable antigen-presenting cells, leading to more consistent experimental results. • High Expansion Capacity: Promotes vigorous T cell proliferation, enabling the generation of large numbers of cells for downstream assays or therapeutic applications. |
For research use only, not for clinical use.
