| Product Name | 1st Strand cDNA Synthesis Kit II |
| Catalog No. | RESK-0029 |
| Description | This first-strand cDNA synthesis kit is developed on our second-generation thermostable reverse transcriptase. Compared with M-MLV (RNase H-) reverse transcriptase, the second-generation enzyme offers greatly improved thermostability, tolerating reaction temperatures up to 50°C, which makes it suitable for reverse transcribing RNA templates with complex secondary structures. The enzyme also shows enhanced affinity for templates, making it well suited for low-input templates and low-copy-number genes, and its full-length cDNA synthesis capability is improved, enabling amplification of cDNA up to 10 kb. The kit contains all components required to synthesize high-quality first-strand cDNA from total RNA or mRNA and provides two cDNA synthesis primers, Random Primers N6 and Oligo (dT)18, supplied in separate tubes so they can be used individually or in combination. The synthesized single-stranded cDNA can be used directly in downstream PCR or qPCR. |
| Intended Use | Synthesis of high-quality first-strand cDNA from total RNA or mRNA; the resulting single-stranded cDNA can be used directly in downstream PCR or qPCR. For research use. |
| Principle / Technology | Based on a second-generation thermostable reverse transcriptase. Compared with M-MLV (RNase H-) reverse transcriptase, the enzyme shows greatly improved thermostability (tolerating reaction temperatures up to 50°C), enhanced template affinity for low-input templates and low-copy-number genes, and improved full-length cDNA synthesis capability, enabling amplification of cDNA up to 10 kb. |
| Detection Method | Downstream PCR or qPCR analysis of the synthesized cDNA. |
| Sample Type | Total RNA or mRNA. |
| Performance Range / Specifications | Tolerates reverse transcription reaction temperatures up to 50°C; amplifies cDNA up to 10 kb. |
| Sensitivity / LOD | Enhanced template affinity makes the kit suitable for low-input templates and low-copy-number genes. |
| Specificity | Two cDNA synthesis primers, Random Primers N6 and Oligo (dT)18, are provided in separate tubes and can be used individually or mixed, according to experimental needs. |
| Reaction Conditions / Protocol | Set up the reverse transcription reaction with the kit components and the primer(s) of choice; reaction temperatures up to 50°C can be applied for RNA templates with complex secondary structures. |
| Components / Formulation | The kit contains all components required for high-quality first-strand cDNA synthesis from total RNA or mRNA, including: Second-generation reverse transcriptase Reaction buffer Random Primers N6 Oligo (dT)18 |
| Storage Conditions | Store at -20°C. |
| Package Specifications | 100 T |
| Product Form | Kit |
| Source / Origin | Developed on a second-generation thermostable reverse transcriptase; the enzyme offers improved performance over M-MLV (RNase H-) reverse transcriptase. |
| Shipping Conditions | Shipped with ice packs. |
| Compatibility | The synthesized single-stranded cDNA can be used directly in downstream PCR or qPCR. |
| Application Notes / Precautions | The two primers are supplied in separate tubes: Oligo (dT) and Random Primers can be used separately or mixed, depending on the experimental design. For quantification-only workflows, a qPCR-dedicated premix format is recommended. If reverse transcription temperatures above 50°C (e.g., 55°C) are required, our third-generation reverse transcriptase products are recommended, as they offer superior thermostability. |
For research use only, not for clinical use.
