Product Introduction Cytoplasmic isocitrate dehydrogenase (ICDHc) catalyzes the oxidative decarboxylation of isocitrate to α-ketoglutarate, generating NADPH in the cytosol. Unlike its mitochondrial counterpart, ICDHc is not part of the TCA cycle but is a major source of NADPH for reductive biosynthesis (e.g., fatty acids, cholesterol) and for maintaining the glutathione-based antioxidant system. Its activity is linked to cell proliferation, cancer metabolism, and oxidative stress responses. This kit specifically measures the NADP⁺-dependent activity in the cytoplasmic fraction by monitoring NADPH production at 340 nm.
