| Detection Principle | CISH technology uses labeled DNA probes targeting the HER2 gene locus on chromosome 17, which hybridize with complementary nucleic acids present in breast cancer specimens. The probe has been validated via PCR to contain the HER2 gene and confirmed via FISH technology using normal lymphocytes to specifically bind to the HER2 gene locus on chromosome 17. Therefore, the probe inherently possesses specificity and does not require repetitive sequence blocking treatment like traditional cytogenetic DNA probes. CISH technology enables the assessment of genetic abnormalities via colorimetric detection under a brightfield microscope. |
